Sprouts-galore!

sprouts sprouting

Something is sprouting in the garden! Sprouts! Sprouts are a delicious and nutritious source of protein and dietary fiber, as well as vitamin K, folate, pantothenic acid, niacin, thiamin, vitamin C, vitamin A, and riboflavin, manganese, copper, zinc, magnesium, iron, and calcium. With all these health benefits we are adding them to our salads; it is healthy yet simplistic! What's even better is how simple it is to create sprouts. Check out Inhabit's article on "How to Sprout Seeds and Beans on Your Kitchen Counter".

Sprouts are tiny, yet contain so much value. Did you know...they have the ability to improve the digestive process, boost the metabolism, increase enzymatic activity throughout the body, prevent anemia, help with weight loss, lower cholesterol, reduce blood pressure, prevent neural tube defects in infants, protect against cancer, boost skin health, improve vision, support the immune system, and increase usable energy reserves. Remarkable, right? Be summer body ready!

Want more reasons to include sprouts in your diet? Care2's article gives you 10 reasons why. Bonus reason: part of our delicious garden salad at the social gardener café!
